There is no future without the earth, which has enabled all of the human flourishing which you can discover in our museum. That’s why we are deeply committed to sustainability and conservation. We act through exhibitions which advocate for the cause of our planet’s future and direct action that cares for the environment.
Architect Moshe Safdie’s design for our museum fuses artistic vision with sustainability by seamlessly integrating green features throughout the building. The iconic lotus-shaped structure doubles as a rainwater harvesting system, capturing up to 400,000 liters annually for use in landscaping, bathrooms, and various water features.
The museum also uses energy-efficient systems and sustainable materials, including solar film on its windows that minimizes heat gain and reduces reliance on air-conditioning.
In 2024, ArtScience Museum achieved the LEED Platinum certification, marking a new milestone in our sustainability efforts.
Accorded by the U.S. Green Building Council for environmental excellence, this globally- recognized award underscores our museum’s tangible commitment to a more sustainable future through better practices in water, energy, and waste management.
Our programming engages with some of the most urgent environmental issues of our present. We create impact through immersive experiences that educate our audience and inspires them towards meaningful action.
Past collaborations with The World Wide Fund For Nature and National Geographic have highlighted the dangers of climate change and the importance of biodiversity. Our mission is to continue these critical conversations and to demand real change for the future of our planet.
